Ten Hag’s tactical triumph – a Solskjaer-style victory in FA Cup final

CONGRATULATIONS to Manchester United for defying the odds by beating Manchester City to win the FA Cup. In the second ultimate game of the English season (with Leeds vs Southampton still to come for the final promotion spot via the promotion playoffs), Erik Ten Hag fielded a recognised centreback pairing and got his tactics right to beat Manchester City.

Goals from two 19-year-olds, Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo, secured the victory for United, while Sofyan Amrabat channelled his Qatar 2022 World Cup performances to put on a player-of-the-match display in the middle of the park. The irony of this game is that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s style of football, not Ten Hag’s, won it.
