NEW YORK, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended higher on Monday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 146.42 points, or 0.28 percent, to 52,361.58. The S&P 500 added 53.09 points, or 0.70 percent, to 7,676.77. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased by 214.039 points, or 0.83 percent, to 26,169.381.
Seven of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in green, with technology and industrials leading the gainers by going up 1.50 percent and 1.40 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, communication services and consumer staples led the laggards by losing 1.42 percent and 0.13 percent, respectively.
