LONDON, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- A man has died after being attacked by a tiger at a wildlife park in northern England on Saturday, local police confirmed.
South Yorkshire Police said the man entered a tiger enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, near Doncaster, where he was subsequently attacked by the animal and died at the scene.
Police confirmed that the tiger remained inside its enclosure and posed no further danger to the public.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service said it received an emergency call at around 1:30 p.m. (1230 GMT). Two ambulances, an air ambulance and a doctor were dispatched to the scene.
The wildlife park said emergency procedures were activated immediately following the incident and that it was cooperating with authorities to establish the circumstances.
The park was evacuated and will remain closed on Sunday.
