ISTANBUL, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- A passenger plane flying from the Turkish capital Ankara to the southeastern province of Sanliurfa landed safely on Monday after a note claiming an explosive device was on board was found, local authorities said.
Sanliurfa Governor Hasan Sildak said on social media platform X that the flight of Turkish airline AJet departed Ankara at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT) and landed at Sanliurfa GAP Airport at 8:05 p.m., carrying 136 passengers and seven crew members.
Sildak noted that passengers and crew would be safely evacuated before security units searched the plane for possible explosives.
