KIEV, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has downgraded its forecast for Ukraine's gross domestic product (GDP) growth this year to 1.5 percent from 2.2 percent.
Ukraine's macroeconomic outlook has deteriorated significantly amid escalating Russian air attacks, the economy has shifted from slow recovery to a state bordering on stagnation, the EBRD said in its Regional Economic Prospects report on Thursday.
According to the report, the risks of a further deterioration in the outlook include prolonged disruptions to Black Sea shipping, a resumption of Russian attacks on energy infrastructure, and wider external financing gaps.
The EBRD projected that Ukraine's GDP will grow by 2.5 percent in 2027.
Earlier this week, Ukraine's Economy and Environment Ministry said it was considering revising down the country's 2026 GDP growth forecast from 1.6 to 0.5 percent due to the intensified Russian attacks.
