PARIS, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- 44 people were injured, including one in critical condition, after a regional passenger train partially derailed in the Seine-Maritime department in northwestern France on Friday evening, French daily Le Figaro reported.
The Regional Express Transport (TER), carrying 180 passengers on the Rouen-Caen line, derailed near the commune of Cleon in the Seine-Maritime department, French Transport Minister Philippe Tabarot said on X.
According to Tabarot, approximately 140 firefighters have been deployed to the scene to assist the injured and remaining passengers.
Emergency response teams and local authorities are coordinating rescue efforts alongside French national railway operator SNCF, he added.
