1st LD Writethru: 12 killed, 20 injured in multi-vehicle crash in Russia


MOSCOW, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- Twelve people were killed and 20 others injured in a collision involving a logging truck, a minibus and a passenger car in the Kholmogory District of Russia's Arkhangelsk region, the regional health ministry said Friday.

"Eight of the injured are in serious condition, three of them in extremely serious condition," the ministry said in a statement.

Local authorities said nine emergency medical teams were working at the scene. The injured have been transported to local hospitals.
