BISHKEK, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- Kyrgyzstan's gross domestic product (GDP) in January-July 2026 reached 1.1727 trillion soms (about 13.4 billion U.S. dollars), up 11.1 percent from a year earlier, the country's National Statistical Committee reported Friday.
The growth was driven primarily by the service sector, which accounted for 49.8 percent of total GDP, and commodity production, which contributed 34.2 percent. Net taxes on products accounted for the remaining 16 percent.
During the reporting period, industrial production increased by 11.2 percent, while construction output grew by 60.6 percent. Wholesale and retail trade increased by 4 percent, agriculture output by 6 percent, and hotel and restaurant services by 9.6 percent.
According to the report, consumer prices and tariffs in the country increased by 6.7 percent in the first seven months of 2026 compared with December 2025.
Kyrgyzstan's foreign and mutual trade in goods amounted to 7.9 billion dollars in the first half of 2026, up 1.4 percent from the same period in 2025. The increase was driven by a 3.7 percent rise in imports, while exports decreased by 11.1 percent. (1 Kyrgyzstani som = 0.01143 U.S. dollar)
