LONDON, July 24 (Xinhua) -- Five police officers were injured after a police boat struck Westminster Bridge on Friday afternoon, according to Metropolitan police.
The incident involved a boat from the Marine Policing Unit, which struck Westminster Bridge over the River Thames in central London, Metropolitan police said in a statement.
"A number of officers entered the water, but were recovered," said the statement. "We understand five officers were injured and are receiving treatment."
"At this stage, we don't believe any members of the public were involved or injured," it added.
