NEW DELHI -- The death toll in the rain-related incidents in Indian-controlled Kashmir has risen to 23, the state-run broadcaster All India Radio (AIR) said Tuesday.
"Eleven people, including a woman and her two children, were killed in fresh rain-related incidents across the Jammu region yesterday, raising the death toll to 23 over the past three days," the broadcaster said. (India-Rain-Death Toll)

KABUL -- At least 20 people were killed, around 80 others injured and more than 100 remain missing after flash floods triggered by heavy rainfall struck Nuristan province in eastern Afghanistan on Monday, a government official said.

SEOUL -- South Korea's ruling party-controlled parliament passed a bill Tuesday to extend a high-profile independent counsel probe into former President Yoon Suk-yeol and his wife Kim Keon-hee.
The National Assembly, led by the Democratic Party, passed the comprehensive special counsel act amendment to investigate insurrection, treason and corruption involving the former presidential couple in a unanimous 173-0 vote, after cutting short a 24-hour filibuster by the main conservative opposition People Power Party that boycotted the vote in protest. YANGON -- Five people are missing after a motorboat capsized in the Chindwin River in Myanmar's Sagaing region, an official from the Sagaing Region Police Force told Xinhua on Tuesday.
