LOS ANGELES, June 28 (Xinhua) -- Disney and Pixar's animated film "Toy Story 5" stayed atop the North American box office chart with an estimated three-day cume of 70 million U.S. dollars in its second weekend, figures from measurement firm Comscore showed on Sunday.
"Toy Story 5" has grossed 297.2 million dollars in North America and 585 million dollars worldwide through Sunday.
Featuring the returning voices of Tom Hanks and Tim Allen, the film is the fifth installment in Pixar's beloved "Toy Story" franchise. It opened to the year's biggest domestic box office debut last weekend.
Warner Bros. presentation of DC's superhero film "Supergirl" opened this weekend to a debut of 38 million dollars. The film, based on the eponymous character from DC Comics, also took in 30 million dollars internationally this weekend for a global total of 68 million dollars.
Rounding out the top three, Focus Features' R-rated horror film "Obsession" earned 9.8 million dollars in its seventh weekend.
