Kazakhstan reroutes gas supplies after disruption at Russia's Orenburg processing plant

ALMATY, June 24 (Xinhua) -- Kazakhstan has adjusted its gas supply logistics following a disruption at the Orenburg gas processing plant in Russia, the Interfax-Kazakhstan news agency reported on Wednesday, citing Kazakhstan's Energy Ministry.

The General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces said on its official Telegram channel Wednesday that Ukrainian forces had struck the Orenburg gas processing plant and Russia's only helium plant overnight.

Kazakhstan's gas infrastructure is operating normally, and the situation is under continuous monitoring by the ministry and the national operator, Energy Ministry spokesperson Assel Serikpayeva was quoted as saying.

The Orenburg plant processes gas from Kazakhstan's Karachaganak field, which provides at least 15 billion cubic meters of raw gas annually for consumers in Kazakhstan and Russia.
