U.S. stocks close higher


NEW YORK, June 12 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended higher on Friday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 353.51 points, or 0.7 percent, to 51,202.26. The S&P 500 added 37.16 points, or 0.5 percent, to 7,431.46. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased by 79.18 points, or 0.31 percent, to 25,888.84.

Ten of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in green, with materials and financials leading the gainers by rising 1.83 percent and 1.35 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, health bucked the trend by going down 0.16 percent.
