Kyrgyzstan receives over 250 mln USD in remittances in March


BISHKEK, June 10 (Xinhua) -- Remittances received by Kyrgyzstan in March of this year totaled 255.2 million U.S. dollars, according to the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan.

The data published on Wednesday by the National Bank on its Telegram channel showed that the bulk of these remittances from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries amounted to 235.5 million dollars. Transfers from non-CIS countries totaled 19.7 million dollars.

Russia remained the largest source of remittances, accounting for 227.7 million dollars, while the United States contributed 15 million dollars.

Meanwhile, remittances from Kyrgyzstan totaled 23 million dollars. Of this amount, 21 million dollars was transferred to CIS countries, and 1.9 million dollars to non-CIS countries. Russia was the main destination for outbound transfers, receiving 20.7 million dollars, followed by Türkiye with 1.6 million dollars.
