Xinhua president meets TV BRICS chairman

ST. PETERSBURG, June 3 (Xinhua) -- President of Xinhua News Agency Fu Hua met with Ivan Polyakov, chairman of the TV BRICS International Media Network, in St. Petersburg on Wednesday.

Media cooperation is an important component of China-Russia people-to-people exchanges and a key driver of the deepening of the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era, Fu said.

Xinhua is willing to further deepen pragmatic cooperation with TV BRICS, continuously expand the scope and depth of collaboration, and make greater contributions to enhancing mutual understanding between the two peoples and promoting the sustained and steady development of China-Russia relations, Fu said.

Polyakov said TV BRICS and Xinhua have carried out fruitful cooperation over the years. The high-level exchanges and friendship between the heads of state of Russia and China have provided tremendous impetus to bilateral media cooperation.

TV BRICS is ready to work with Xinhua to further expand and deepen cooperation at both bilateral and multilateral levels, Polyakov added.
