Urgent: Air defense activated on Iran's Qeshm Island near Hormuz Strait -- report

TEHRAN, May 18 (Xinhua) -- Air defenses on Iran's Qeshm Island, strategically located near the Strait of Hormuz, were activated Monday evening, Iran's semi-official Mehr News Agency reported. Officials have not yet explained the air defense activity on the island.
