3 killed, 5 injured after vehicle plows into cars, pedestrians in Oakland, California


SAN FRANCISCO, May 17 (Xinhua) -- Three people were killed and five others injured after a vehicle plowed into multiple cars and pedestrians late Saturday night in Oakland, U.S. state of California, local authorities said.

The crash occurred shortly after 11 p.m. local time. Three people were pronounced dead at the scene, while two of the five injured were in critical condition. The driver involved in the crash also sustained minor injuries, according to the Oakland Fire Department.

Authorities have not released the identities of the victims or further details about the crash. An investigation is underway.
