Magnitude 6.3 earthquake hits northern Japan, no tsunami warning issued


TOKYO, ⁠May 15 (Reuters) - ⁠An earthquake with ‌a preliminary magnitude of 6.3 ​hit northern ⁠Japan on ⁠Friday, the Japan ⁠Meteorological ‌Agency ⁠said.

The epicentre of the ​earthquake ‌was off the ⁠coast ​of Miyagi prefecture ⁠at the depth ​of 50 kilometres, the agency ⁠said, adding that no tsunami ​warning ⁠had been issued.
