LOS ANGELES, May 13 (Xinhua) -- The 2026 China-California Business Forum held here Tuesday brought together some 550 government officials, business leaders from China and the United States to explore cooperation and promote exchanges.
The forum has served as an iconic brand of sub-national cooperation between the two countries, said Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng in a video address, calling on California to contribute to finding the right path of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation for China and the United States in the new era.
In his opening remarks, Chinese Consul General in Los Angeles Guo Shaochun described the event as not only an important platform for policy dialogue, information exchange, and trade and investment promotion between Chinese provinces and California, but a valuable opportunity for direct interaction, opportunity expansion, and cooperation matchmaking for business communities on both sides.
In a written speech to the forum, California State Treasurer Fiona Ma said that California and China enjoy a long history of economic partnership, innovation cooperation and people-to-people connections. "Forums like this help build the understanding and relationships necessary for stronger business cooperation and shared prosperity."
Zhao Feng, vice governor of the southern Chinese province of Hainan, this year's Guest Province of Honor, said that Hainan is willing to work with all sectors in California to expand and deepen trade and investment cooperation, in a bid to build a new model for sub-national cooperation between China and the United States.
The China-California Business Forum is an annual economic and trade event to boost the pragmatic cooperation in trade and investment between Chinese provinces, cities and the U.S. state of California.
