Barcelona coach Flick explains two wishes for remainder of his career

MADRID, April 21 (Xinhua) -- FC Barcelona coach Hansi Flick made his intentions clear on Tuesday, saying he wants to extend his contract with the club and win the Champions League.

The 61-year-old was speaking to the press ahead of Wednesday's La Liga game at home to Celta Vigo, which comes a week after Barcelona's Champions League campaign ended despite a dramatic 2-1 away win over Atletico Madrid.

"The Champions League is a great dream for me. There are two things I would like. One is to win the Champions League," he said, adding that he was optimistic it could happen in the near future "because we have a fantastic team."

Flick has already said that Barcelona will be his final job before retirement and is currently under contract until the end of June 2027.

He said that although he wants to extend his contract, for now he is focused on winning this season's La Liga title.

"Here, I really feel like everything around me is the best. My career, my life ... we're enjoying ourselves a lot here. My family and my staff are enjoying Barcelona and are happy to be here. The feeling is very good," he concluded.
