Urgent: 8 children killed in mass shooting in U.S. Louisiana

NEW YORK, April 19 (Xinhua) -- Eight children aged from one to 14 were killed Sunday in a mass shooting in Shreveport, a city in the northwestern part of U.S. state of Louisiana.

The children were among 10 people shot during a "domestic disturbance" as described by the police. The suspect allegedly performed a carjacking in close proximity, before police officers got behind his vehicle. He was killed during the chase, according to a local police spokesperson.
