Russian missiles hit Ukraine's Kyiv, officials report injuries and fires

April 16 (Reuters) - ⁠Russian forces attacked Ukrainian capital Kyiv ⁠with missiles early on Thursday, ‌injuring several people, triggering fires and causing damage in several city districts, local officials ​said.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko said a ⁠missile had flown ⁠into the sixth floor of a ⁠16-floor ‌apartment building in the central Podil district, but no ⁠fire had occurred.

He said a large ​fire had ‌broken out in a building ⁠in the ​Obolon district in the north of the capital and four emergency medical ⁠workers were injured, while ​debris had fallen in several locations

Tymur Tkachenko, head of the city's military administration, ⁠said at least four people had been injured.

Russian attacks also triggered major fires in the southeastern city of ​Dnipro, injuring five ⁠people, regional governor Oleksandr Ganzha wrote ​on Telegram. Pictures posted ‌online showed buildings ablaze.
