Former Brazil spy chief freed in the US after ICE detention, Bolsonaro ally says

SAO PAULO, ⁠April 15 (Reuters) - Former ⁠Brazilian intelligence chief Alexandre ‌Ramagem has been freed in the United States, said Paulo ​Figueiredo, an ally ⁠of former ⁠President Jair Bolsonaro who lives ⁠in ‌the U.S., on Wednesday.

Ramagem was ⁠also no longer listed on ​the ‌website of U.S. Immigration ⁠and ​Customs Enforcement among people detained by the ⁠entity. Reuters was not ​immediately able to determine his immigration status in ⁠the country.

Ramagem, who fled Brazil in September following his conviction for plotting ​a coup ⁠with Bolsonaro, had been ​detained by ‌ICE on Monday.
