Russia's int'l reserves fall 7.45 pct in March


MOSCOW, April 7 (Xinhua) -- Russia's international reserves stood at 748.98 billion U.S. dollars as of April 1, down 7.45 percent, or 60.32 billion dollars, from the beginning of March, local media reported Tuesday.

Foreign currency reserves fell by 2.41 percent in March to 415.02 billion dollars, while the value of monetary gold dropped by 13.03 percent to 333.97 billion dollars, according to the Bank of Russia.

International reserves are highly liquid foreign assets held by the central bank and the government, including foreign currencies, special drawing rights, a reserve position in the International Monetary Fund, and monetary gold.
