Iran president says war decisions to be based on national interests

TEHRAN: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Monday (March 30) said that any decision to end the war with the United States and Israel will be made only within the framework of Iran’s dignity, security, and national interests, Mehr News Agency (MNA) reported.

He made the remarks during a cabinet meeting he chaired and which was attended by members of the government, where the latest national situation under special wartime conditions was reviewed.

The meeting examined the provision of public necessities, the status of essential supplies, and the measures taken by executive, service, relief, and ministerial bodies.

Cabinet members presented reports on arrangements to ensure the continuity of public services, maintain supply chains for essential goods, preserve public calm, and strengthen executive readiness across various sectors.

A comprehensive report was also presented on the daily activities of five specialised working groups covering culture and media, infrastructure and production, the economy, livelihoods, and socio-political affairs. – Bernama
