U.S. dollar ticks up


NEW YORK, March 27 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar increased in late trading on Friday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, went up 0.26 percent to 100.151 at 3 p.m. (1900 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro fell to 1.1508 dollars from 1.1532 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound declined to 1.3266 dollars from 1.3327 dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 160.38 Japanese yen, higher than 159.73 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar rose to 0.7983 Swiss francs from 0.7949 Swiss francs, and it increased to 1.3892 Canadian dollars from 1.3847 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar was up to 9.4751 Swedish kronor from 9.4392 Swedish kronor.
