Russia's steel output estimated to decline 10.2 pct in February


MOSCOW, March 24 (Xinhua) -- Russia's steel production in February is estimated to fall by 10.2 percent year on year to 5 million tonnes, according to a report published by the World Steel Association on Tuesday.

Data from the association showed that crude steel output for 69 reporting countries reached 141.8 million tonnes in February, a decrease of 2.2 percent year on year.

The World Steel Association is one of the largest industry associations in the world, with members in major steel-producing countries accounting for around 85 percent of global steel output.
