Saudi ports authority launches initiative to support vessels in Gulf with integrated services

RIYADH, March 21 (Xinhua) -- The Saudi Ports Authority announced Saturday the launch of an initiative to support vessels operating in the Gulf by leveraging its capabilities at ports in the Eastern Province to provide integrated services that meet vessels' needs.

In a statement published on its official website, the authority said the initiative includes services such as supplying vessels with food and medical provisions and providing fuel and water, to ensure the continuity of maritime voyages with high efficiency.

To facilitate access to the services, the authority noted that it will provide an updated list of ship chandlers and fuel service providers, enabling shipowners and operators to communicate directly with them and coordinate their needs.

The authority emphasized that the initiative comes as part of its ongoing efforts to support maritime activity in the region, enhance the reliability of supply chains, and affirm the readiness of Saudi ports to provide support under various circumstances.
