Tajikistan sends humanitarian aid to Iran


DUSHANBE, March 18 (Xinhua) -- The government of Tajikistan has sent humanitarian aid to the people of Iran at the instruction of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, the presidential press service said Wednesday.

Tajikistan's humanitarian aid totals 3,610 tonnes, including 45 tonnes of medicines, as well as large quantities of sanitary and hygiene products, children's clothing, food products, household items and other essential supplies, it said.

According to the press service, a convoy of humanitarian aid, consisting of 110 large trucks, departed for Iran on Wednesday and is expected to arrive soon.
