Remittances to Kyrgyzstan in January exceed 220 mln USD


BISHKEK, March 17 (Xinhua) -- Remittances to Kyrgyzstan from abroad reached 220.3 million U.S. dollars in January 2026, the country's National Bank said Tuesday.

The main inflow came from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries, amounting to 205.7 million dollars, while 14.6 million dollars came from non-CIS countries.

The majority of the transfers came from Russia, totaling 200.8 million dollars, while 10.8 million dollars came from the United States.

Meanwhile, remittances sent from Kyrgyzstan totaled 17.7 million dollars in the same period. Of this amount, 16.3 million dollars went to CIS countries and 1.4 million dollars to non-CIS countries. Russia accounted for 16 million dollars of the total outflow.
