Azerbaijan's FDI inflows hit nearly 6.6 bln USD in 2025


BAKU, March 17 (Xinhua) -- The foreign direct investment (FDI) in Azerbaijan's economy reached nearly 6.6 billion U.S. dollars in 2025, an official at the country's central bank announced Tuesday.

"As of the end of 2025, foreign direct investment in Azerbaijan's economy totaled 6.595 billion dollars," said Samir Nasirov, head of the statistics department of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, at a briefing on the country's 2025 balance of payments.

Among inbound investors, Britain led with 1.736 billion dollars, followed by Türkiye with 1.231 billion dollars, Cyprus with 751.1 million dollars, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with 404.8 million dollars, and Iran with 375.3 million dollars.

Nasirov said Azerbaijan's investment in foreign economies stood at 2.528 billion dollars.

In terms of outbound investment, Azerbaijan directed 543 million dollars to Israel, 345 million dollars to Türkiye, 329.1 million dollars to the UAE, 212.3 million dollars to Britain, and 179.5 million dollars to Georgia.
