BiH evacuates citizens from Middle East

SARAJEVO, March 9 (Xinhua) -- Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) has activated the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism (EU CPM) to facilitate the evacuation of its citizens from the Middle East, local authorities said on Monday.

The activation of the EU CPM enables the BiH's Foreign Ministry to coordinate arrangements with partner countries to include BiH citizens on available flights.

The first group of 13 BiH citizens was evacuated on Sunday from Muscat, Oman, to Bucharest, Romania, marking the start of the organized repatriation process.

According to the Ministry of Security, another chartered flight from Riyadh to Warsaw is scheduled for March 11, with 11 BiH citizens already registered.
