Azerbaijan calls for restraint amid regional military escalation

BAKU, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday voiced deep concern over the ongoing military escalation in the Middle East, warning that it poses a serious threat to both regional and global security and stability.

In a statement, the ministry called on all parties involved to exercise maximum restraint, avoid any actions that could further inflame tensions, and return to the negotiation table.

"We emphasize the importance of respecting the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of all states, in accordance with the United Nations Charter and universally recognized norms and principles of international law," the ministry said.
