U.S. dollar ticks up


NEW YORK, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar increased in late trading on Wednesday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, went up 0.04 percent to 96.834 at 3 p.m. (2000 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro lost to 1.1882 dollars from 1.1894 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound decreased to 1.3637 dollars from 1.3666 dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 152.83 Japanese yen, lower than 154.49 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar rose to 0.7703 Swiss francs from 0.7682 Swiss francs, and it was up to 1.3561 Canadian dollars from 1.3551 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar fell to 8.8813 Swedish kronor from 8.9021 Swedish kronor.
