Russia to increase share of creative industries in national economy: deputy PM

MOSCOW, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) -- Russia aims to increase the share of its creative industries in the national economy to 6 percent by 2030, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said Tuesday.

Nearly all Russian regional governors are actively engaged in promoting creative industries, which include areas such as film, music, architecture and design, to boost the contribution of the creative economy, he said.

A strategy for the development of the creative economy is being drafted and expected to be submitted this month to the Russian government, Novak said.

The development of creative industries is one of the key directions within Russia's plan for structural economic transformation, he added.
