1st LD: Fire near London railway line disrupts travel in Britain

LONDON, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- A fire near a railway line in north London has caused widespread travel disruption for passengers across Britain, Sky News reported on Friday.

Train services between London Euston and Watford Junction have been suspended after the fire erupted in Camden, north London, National Rail said.

The London Fire Brigade said it received a call at 9:31 a.m. about a blaze in a single-story commercial property near the railway. Crews dispatched 10 fire appliances and roughly 70 firefighters, as well as a 32-meter aerial ladder platform to help tackle the fire from above.

The incident has led to major delays and cancellations across several operators, including Avanti West Coast, London Northwestern Railway, London Overground and Southern Railway.

The cause of the fire remains unclear. An investigation is underway.
