U.S. stocks close mixed

NEW YORK, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended mixed on Friday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.58 percent to 49,098.71. The S&P 500 added 0.03 percent to 6,915.61. The Nasdaq Composite Index rose 0.28 percent to 23,501.24.
