7 border guards killed in traffic accident in W. Iraq

BAGHDAD, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- Seven members of the Iraqi border guard forces were killed in a traffic accident in Iraq's western province of Anbar, the country's Border Guard Command said on Sunday.

The seven people died in a "tragic traffic accident" on the highway in Anbar while on their way to duty, it said in a statement.

The command did not provide specific details regarding the cause of the crash or whether other vehicles were involved.

It also expressed its deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to the families of the victims.
