Trump says US has to have Greenland

PALM ‌BEACH, Florida, Dec ‌22 (Reuters) - U.S. President ‌Donald Trump on Monday said the ‍United States ‍needs to ‌have Greenland, not for ‍critical ​minerals but ⁠for national security.

Trump named Louisiana ‌Governor Jeff Landry ⁠on ‍Sunday as his special ‍envoy to Greenland, ‌drawing renewed criticism from Denmark and Greenland over Washington's interest in the mineral-rich Arctic ‌island.
