Romania issues orange flood alert as severe flood risk looms

BUCHAREST, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- Romania's hydrology authorities have issued an orange flood alert for parts of the south on Saturday, warning of severe flooding risk due to heavy rainfall and rising river levels.

Homes and key infrastructure could be threatened, and some areas are under their second high-level warning in 24 hours.

A wider yellow alert is also in force across multiple regions, as officials urge heightened vigilance nationwide.
