U.S. stocks close higher


NEW YORK, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended higher on Friday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 289.3 points, or 0.61 percent, to 47,716.42. The S&P 500 added 36.48 points, or 0.54 percent, to 6,849.09. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased 151 points, or 0.65 percent, to close at 23,365.69.

Ten of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended lower, with energy and consumer discretionary leading the gainers by adding 1.32 percent and 0.90 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, health bucked the trend by losing 0.50 percent.
