U.S. dollar ticks down

NEW YORK, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar fell in late trading on Friday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, decreased 0.12 percent to 99.444 at 3 p.m. (2000 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro advanced to 1.1602 dollars from 1.1595 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound rose to 1.3247 dollars from 1.3237 dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 156.12 Japanese yen, lower than 156.34 Japanese yen in the previous session. The U.S. dollar declined to 0.8035 Swiss francs from 0.8050 Swiss francs, and it was down to 1.3973 Canadian dollars from 1.4030 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar slipped to 9.4388 Swedish kronor from 9.4802 Swedish kronor.
