Heavy snowfall paralyzes traffic in Croatia

ZAGREB, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- Heavy snowfall across Croatia has paralyzed traffic on Saturday with numerous roads, bridges and ferry lines closed, and stormy winds overturned a camper in a parking lot at the Krk Bridge in the western part of the country, leaving a woman injured.

The State Hydrometeorological Institute has issued a red warning, the highest level of alert, for regions including Gospic, Rijeka, Kvarner, Kvarneric and northern Dalmatia in western and southern Croatia. Croatian Auto Club (HAK) has advised drivers not to travel, and if the travel is necessary, they need to have winter equipment, adjust their speed to road conditions, and regularly monitor traffic conditions through official channels.
