2nd Chinese food carnival held in Colombo


COLOMBO, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- The 2nd Chinese Food Carnival and China-Sri Lanka Cultural Performance was held here from Thursday to Friday, helping enhance cultural links between the two countries.

Addressing the event, Gamagedara Dissanayake, deputy minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, said Chinese cuisine carries the wisdom of history, showcasing exquisite culinary skills as well as distinctive cultural concepts. Cultural exchange events of this kind play an important role in enhancing people-to-people ties between Sri Lanka and China and deepening cooperation in education and tourism. He expressed hope that the two countries would continue to expand exchanges in various fields and further strengthen bonds of friendship.
