St. Petersburg plans to build over 20 industrial enterprises, 30 tech parks by 2030


ST. PETERSBURG, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- St. Petersburg plans to establish more than 20 new industrial enterprises and 30 industrial and technology parks by 2030 as part of an updated industrial policy, the press service of the city's Committee for Industrial Policy, Innovation and Trade said Thursday.

The plan also includes the creation of two technology valleys and over 50,000 new jobs by 2030, along with the launch of a federal robotics center, said the press service on Telegram.

Presenting the updated plan to the city's Legislative Assembly, Alexander Sitov, chairman of the committee, said the new industrial policy replaces the program adopted in 2021.

The updated plan focuses on technological advancement, investment and financial mechanisms, foreign trade and human resources, Sitov said.

"We are changing our priorities toward technological progress, and the results already achieved show we are on the right path," he said.
