U.S. stocks close mixed


NEW YORK, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended mixed on Wednesday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 326.86 points, or 0.68 percent, to 48,254.82. The S&P 500 added 4.31 points, or 0.06 percent, to 6,850.92. The Nasdaq Composite Index shed 61.844 points, or 0.26 percent, to 23,406.457.

Six of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in green, with health and financials leading the gainers by rising 1.36 percent and 0.90 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, energy and communication services led the laggards by dropping 1.42 percent and 1.18 percent, respectively.
