U.S. dollar ticks up


NEW YORK, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar climbed in late trading on Wednesday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, gained 0.05 percent to 99.495 at 3 p.m. (2000 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro fell to 1.1586 dollars from 1.1590 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound declined to 1.3130 dollars from 1.3172 dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 154.72 Japanese yen, higher than 154.09 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar was down to 0.7978 Swiss francs from 0.8001 Swiss francs, and it dropped to 1.3998 Canadian dollars from 1.4009 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar declined to 9.4493 Swedish kronor from 9.4514 Swedish kronor.
