BRASILIA (Reuters) -Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira met with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Wednesday in Niagara Falls on the sidelines of the G7 meeting to discuss progress in ongoing tariff talks, a diplomatic source with direct knowledge of the conversation said.

According to the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, Vieira told Rubio that Brazil had sent a negotiation proposal to the United States on November 4, and stressed the importance of advancing the negotiations.

Both agreed to schedule an in-person meeting soon to further assess the current stage of negotiations, the source added.
