1 killed, 3 injured in gas explosion at residential building in Poland


WARSAW, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed and three others were injured in a gas explosion that occurred in a residential building in north-central Poland, local media reported Wednesday.

The explosion took place in Chelmno Town on Wednesday afternoon, and six fire brigade units have been dispatched to the scene, where part of the building's basement wall was damaged, the Polish Press Agency quoted a spokesperson for the local fire service as saying.

The victim has not yet been publicly identified. Rescue operations were continuing, and experts were assessing the structural safety of the building, according to the report.
