U.S. stocks close higher


NEW YORK, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended higher on Monday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 381.53 points, or 0.81 percent, to 47,368.63. The S&P 500 added 103.63 points, or 1.54 percent, to 6,832.43. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased by 522.64 points, or 2.27 percent, to 23,527.17.

Eight of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in green, with technology and communication services leading the gainers by adding 2.68 percent and 2.53 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, consumer staples and real estate led the laggards by losing 0.34 percent and 0.14 percent, respectively.
